Middle School Girls to Serve on Coast

Members of Diana Lungsford's 8th grade girl's class will travel to the Gulf Coast to assist in recovery efforts the week of Spring Break (April 3-7).

The team will stay at Bay Vista Baptist Church in Gulfport, Miss., where several other teams from First Redeemer Church have served since Hurricane Katrina. They will undertake various tasks, including the important job of assisting in the clean-up of the yards of various homes in the community.

Ever Considered Being a Sojourner?

Sojourners are high school students who work with missionaries and churches in evangelism and church planting projects in the United States and Canada. Ministry settings vary from inner city to the beach. Sojourners serve with other student missionaries and/or career missionaries. The deadline for high school students to apply for the summer Sojourner program is April 20.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidates must have completed junior year of high school and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
• Candidates serve 4-10 weeks during the summer.
• Candidates will receive travel and insurance from the North America Mission Board.
• Room and board will be provided by the place of service.
• Application Deadline—April 20, 2006

There is currently a critical need for Sojourners in the Alabama Gulf Coast and Canada.

9th Grade Boys Share Faith at Eagle Ranch

Recently, 26 people from First Redeemer Church - including a 9th grade boys class - took part in a special time of food, fellowship and fun at Eagle Ranch Children's Home.

Mike Stalnaker and Ralph Barber's Bible study class got the opportunity to share the gospel by sharing life stories and how God works through their everyday lives.
