Jamaica Commissioning Service Tonight!

Students and adult participants in the March 29-April 5 Jamaica Spring Break Mission Trip will be officially "commissioned" tonight at the end of the 141 Student Ministries Wednesday service in the Student and Family Building.

Participants leave Thursday for the trip, which will include numerous church-strengthening ministries at Kingston-area churches. Ministries include conducting a Vacation Bible School, street witnessing and outreach, speaking in public schools and a children's home. It is the first international mission trip for FRC students.

The Jamaica team numbers 17, which includes 15 students and adults from First Redeemer Church, and two individuals from New Life Community Baptist Church. Mark Olson, pastor of New Life, is assisting FRC with the trip. He has been leading mission trips to Jamaica for more than 14 years.

• Success of ministry activities in impacting lostness: the Vacation Bible School at Gardener's View, preaching and street witnessing at Hanover Street, sharing of testimonies at public schools, preaching at halftime of a soccer game, and sharing at children's homes
  
  
• God to prepare the hearts of those who will hear testimonies of students and leaders, and messages shared during various events
  
  
• A great harvest of souls and for follow-up and discipleship through local Jamaica Baptist churches
